Guest speakers inspire and motivate WellSky teammates

At WellSky, we place a high value on continuous learning and enhancing our teammates’ understanding of diversity and inclusion issues through professional activities and trainings. One way WellSky works to keep teammates engaged and mission-focused is to routinely invite inspiring guest speakers to share their insights and expertise.

In honor ofNational Hispanic Heritage Month, the WellSky Multicultural Teammate ResourceGroup invited Laura Donnelly, founder and CEO of Latinitas, to present information about her organization’s efforts to empower girls to innovate through media and technology. Latinitas offers a variety of opportunities for girls to discover their voices, develop media and technology skills, and build a solid foundation for their future.

“I was really inspired by their mission to support the educational development of youngLatinx women by giving them the tools to learn tangible skills that can be applied in the media and tech space,” said Nurah Ali, a WellSky teammate. “As a designer in the tech space myself I really appreciated the work that they do because I know the barricades that are present for those entering the field and the difficulties that come with navigating that. Moving forward, I hope to support the Latinitas volunteer efforts and would like to stay connected with what the organization does next! I’m grateful that the TGR introduced WellSky to such a wonderful organization.”

The MulticulturalTRG also recently welcomed Matt Stephenson, CEO and co-founder of Code2College, for a presentation on how WellSky teammates can make an impact on the lives ofstudents pursuing STEM majors at institutions like the University of Texas,Texas A&M, Georgetown University, the Massachusetts Institute ofTechnology, and more.

Since 2016,Code2College has been recruiting volunteers from corporate partners including Atlassian, Google, and H-E-B Digital to provide professional development, STEM career exposure, college access, and after-school coding education to hundreds of minority and low-income high school students in central Texas.

At WellSky, we’re focused on creating a culture of curiosity and innovation that starts with our teammates, extends to our clients, and ultimately results in better care for people across the globe.
