Fueled by the spirit of giving back, our annual social outreach program led WellSky teammates based in Bangalore, India, to Sri Rukum School for the Blind. The excitement among teammates was palpable, evident in their generous donations that enabled us to buy a lot of essential supplies for the school's daily operations as well as to sponsor lunch for the day.
Sri Rakum School for the Blind is a free residential school for the visually impaired and for the sighted-under privileged. The school starts from nursery and goes up to the postgraduate level, preparing students to face competitive entrance exams and pursue employment.
We reached the school on December 16, and our team's day began with warm interactions with the school's staff as we presented the donations. The students' remarkable skills were on display as they prepared lunch, their enthusiasm and joy humbling and inspirational.
Soon it was time to serve lunch and we joined hands and served a nutritious lunch to the students and other inmates of the ashram. The lunch consists of portions of fruits and vegetables, cereals, lentils, eggs, and sweets.
The students' heartfelt gratitude resonated with us deeply, reminding us of the profound impact of acts of kindness. Spending time interacting with them, we carried smiles and a strengthened sense of purpose as we departed.
