WellSky DevDays + Solutions Summit 2025: Where engineering meets solutions
The WellSky DevDays + Solutions Summit 2025 marked an exciting new chapter in our annual internal conference for the R&D community. This year, we brought together our engineering and solutions teams under one unified experience, combining the spirit of DevDays and the Solutions Summit into a single, immersive event celebrating innovation, collaboration, and the future of connected care. Spanning three transformative days, the event reflected the heart of the culture at WellSky – a celebration of shared learning, open collaboration, and inspired thinking that brought our collective vision for healthcare technology to life.
With more than 90 sessions, 97 speakers, and 1,000-plus participants, this year’s summit was our largest and most diverse collaboration event, featuring standout plenary sessions, lightning talks, presentations, workshops, and special events. DevDays + Solutions Summit opened in an atmosphere charged with inspiration, energy, and forward thinking – a gathering that brought together leadership vision, technical innovation, and cross-regional collaboration under one roof.
This year’s summit explored how engineering and solutions teams can unlock their collective potential and reimagine client value through the power of AI-driven innovation. Through hands-on learning and deep-dive discussions, participants discovered how to harness new AI capabilities to help enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and accelerate delivery. More than a technology discussion, the event highlighted the WellSky vision to lead the evolution of connected care through innovation that keeps people at the center.
More than a conversation about AI’s possibilities, the event emphasized a mindset shift: using AI not to replace human capability, but to enhance it.
Opening fireside chat with the WellSky leadership team
To open the event, the WellSky leadership team shared how the company is evolving through purposeful innovation, focused on creating meaningful impact for providers, caregivers, and communities. The leaders highlighted how WellSky continues to lead the way in applying AI responsibly and effectively across healthcare technology.
AI as an amplifier: State of AI-assisted software development by Nathen Harvey, with Google
Nathen explored how artificial intelligence is helping transform software development by empowering, not replacing, engineers. With the usage of DORA, from smarter testing to faster feedback loops, his message was clear: AI is a creative co-pilot for the modern developer.
Keynote by WellSky Chief Solutions Officer, Amy Shellhart
Amy shed light on the WellSky mission of “Coding the Cure,” illustrating how technology, AI, and interoperability come together to address some of the most pressing challenges in U.S. healthcare – including workforce shortages, the rise of chronic care, and system fragmentation. Amy shared a compelling visual depiction of the integrated healthcare ecosystem – from acute to post-acute care – showing how each workflow across WellSky solutions contributes to a more connected and coordinated continuum of care.
Fireside chat with WellSky Chief Technology Officer, Joel Dolisy and Karthik “KK” Krishnamurthy, CEO, Ascendion
The candid conversation between Joel and KK on leadership, sustainable innovation, and engineering culture underscored how partnership and curiosity sustain long-term success.
KK captivated the audience with his reflections on learning from AI failures, drawing a striking analogy from Jurassic Park, which illustrated how overreliance on technology without ethical foresight can lead to unintended consequences. His message served as a thoughtful reminder that progress must always be guided by balance, accountability, and wisdom.
KK also shared his compelling theory on “heroes, legends, and rituals," a philosophy that champions recognizing everyday innovators (“heroes”), celebrating transformative breakthroughs (“legends”), and nurturing consistent practices (“rituals”) that drive sustainable innovation.
Joel and KK together emphasized that innovation must balance speed with stewardship, and curiosity with conscience, echoing the broader theme of the summit: purposeful progress.

Panel discussion on working effectively with India-based teams with Abhi Scaria, Marc Krull, Tricia Slusher, and Ann Hawkins
Working with global teams presents unique challenges. The panel shared actionable insights on communication, inclusion, and trust-building when working across global teams and how to effectively increase collaboration. The group discussed how context and empathy are vital to bridging teams across continents.

Innovation in actionDevDays + Solutions Summit 2025 was a vibrant showcase of collaboration, creativity, and cross-functional learning. Leaders and teammates from various business units and global locations came together in person, strengthening relationships and sparking new ideas across disciplines.
Speakers and presenters shared insights on a wide range of topics – from software craftsmanship and cloud scalability to how AI can be used to help build smarter, more connected solutions. Workshops and lightning talks delivered hands-on, practical strategies for integrating AI into daily workflows – covering everything from multi-agent orchestration and resilient cloud architectures to data-driven decision-making and empathetic solution design.
The event created an environment where engineering and solutions professionals could openly exchange knowledge, explore new perspectives, and inspire one another to think beyond boundaries.
